A Message from our Executive Director
Welcome to Marathon Children and Family Centre. We are pleased to have the opportunity to work in partnership with you and your child as he/she continues to grow and develop. Thank you for choosing Marathon Children and Family Centre to provide quality care and education for your child. Each child’s early learning experience is of utmost importance to us and we strive to provide nurturing, distinguished care in a calming and positive environment that respects the individuality of every child and family.
Marathon Children and Family Centre is a non-profit organization managed by a Board of Directors made up of approved volunteers and parents. Our centre works together with families and community members to serve as a resource and offer support to enrich and enhance the lives and well-being of the children of Marathon as well as the surrounding area.
Our goal is to help each child reach their fullest potential by providing play experiences within a safe and enjoyable learning environment. We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach to learning and firmly believe that children learn best through play. Working in collaboration with the children allows us to plan our programs around their interests. This ensures that our learning environments act as a third teacher, creating activities for the children which promote social, emotional, physical and intellectual development while inducing a feeling of security, capability and comfort.
The Parent Handbook is made available to all of our centre’s families to ensure their access to appropriate information regarding our program policies and procedures. Any supplementary questions and inquires can be addressed through speaking with one of our educators or contacting myself at any time.
